My Inspirations

Looking back at some pictures of myself when I was much younger, I realised my hair looked so TERRIBLE and totally LIFELESS!! I was dismayed as I realised I had been paying little or no attention to my hair over the past years. And geeeeeeeeeeeeez! Where did all that hair go?

I decided to find out more and starting searching the web for answers. I read, and read, and read and finally realised I was the cause of my own hair woes.....together with all the hairdressers I had been visiting over the years.

I looked back at the time I started relaxing my hair after secondary school since our schools insist we crop our hair....lol!! I used to do my OWN HAIR! I only went to the salon for relaxers. All else from washing, roller setting to styling was done by me!! I had healthy thick, black SL hair in one year...before I went to university where i started visiting salons and there....! Downhill went my hair!

I realised a lot of the search results I came up with featured mostly whites and african americans. Information was written or video recorded by them. They mostly took care of their own hair too; and clearly stated they didn't visit salons except for relaxer services.  Could I have hair like theirs? Maybe, maybe not! I started searching for Africans living in Africa who had long healthy hair everywhere from Facebook to Youtube and came across Africanhairblog, Kibibihair, Phrophro's Hair Challenge for starters. I was amazed at their progress in their hair journeys and decided to follow suit. But was I ready back then?.....February 2012 was when I decided to start, started or thought I had started my hair journey! Boy.......after 2 months, I realised I was still doing the same old stuff. I hadn't changed!!
